When the wait staff at the Abbey asks us if have ever been there before – I almost feel guilty about saying that we haven’t- but what comes after the answer is so great- I like hearing it over and over again. So we lie every time and say- “…nope never been here before.” Then we are told all about how the food comes from local sources- Fresh sources. Yes- local- as in places like Crystal Brook Farm in Sterling, MA and Berberian Farm in Northboro, MA. Sometimes it so local its right next door- from Dr. Gonzos.
The this summer the menu boasted that weeks best: “Ready for the picking in Northboro this week: Blueberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, Peaches & Nectarines at Tougas Farm! Fresh Scallions, Radishes, Peas, Beans, Sweet Corn, Tomatoes, all kinds of Herbs & Greens at Berberian Farm!
Goodness- those raspberries were just amazing. WE love this… Take a look and you’ll see why we love this…

Bridgid’s Abbey from Cato Corner Farm (Colchester, CT), Westfield Farms Blue Chevre (Hubbardston, MA) and Shy Brother’s Hannahbells (Westport, MA) with Artisan Salami, Candied Almonds, local seasonal fruit, Wildflower Honey from Honey Etc. (Princeton, MA), Dr. Gonzo’s Black Fly Mustard (Worcester, MA), our Homemade Seasonal Preserves made with fresh local fruit and our House Baked Breads
If you like beer, you have yet another reason to join folks at the Abbey. They have a HUGE selection. The staff never steers us wrong when we are looking to try something new and different.
Our favorite corner of the place to rest and eat is not actually pictured here. We love the front windows with their seating. We can watch the world go by… But this is a very good look at the rest of the Abbey space. All warm woods with cushy seats…
